Janice 'Jan' Garrett, 69, passed away on September 25, 2018 in Edgewood, Florida. She was born on August 28, 1949 in Leavenworth, Kansas to Truman Henderson Jr. and Jeanne Wickey. Jan is predeceased by her parents as well as her husband, Tom Garrett. She is survived by her two sons, Sean (Jen) and Eli (Melodija), her sister Connie and her grandchildren Jeremy, Samantha, Timothy, Jonathon, Benjamin, Wyatt and Dillon along with her great-grandchildren Bailey and Brooklyn. Jan also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Everyone that knew Jan, loved her. To many she was the happiest person they knew; it's remarkable how many people considered her to be their best friend. Jan was amazingly loving and caring, a great listener and was always interested in others more than herself. She was so very kind, fun-loving and joyful. Above all else, Jan loved having a great time with family and friends; watching her grandson race motocross, sharing her love of horses with her granddaughter, cheering on her nieces and nephews at soccer games, traveling with her sister or friends or joining in on any social gathering. She was always up for an adventure. Jan loved reading, watching old movies, making pottery, doing anything outside, playing putt-putt golf, riding bikes, hiking in the mountains, soaking up some sun on the beach or just drinking wine on the porch or deck. Jan's smile was constant and contagious. As her grandson recently said, summing it up perfectly for many of us, she was my favorite person.
